Click II attended California College of Arts and Crafts on a scholarship, which had been awarded to me in high school. During the summer, I was awarded a scholarship to Academy of Arts College in San Francisco. Later I got married and began raising a family, but continued to paint.
In 1984, slides of all my current work were placed in a permanent collection in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, through the collection of Michael Bell. The next few years I was invited to exhibit in several shows, including "Life Within Life", and "Exhibition of Visionary Surrealism" at the Collins Gallery in San Francisco, and "Retrospectacle" at the S.F. Arts Commission Gallery, taking 1st and 2nd place ribbons.
I also received the Grumbacher Award for "Best Use of Color".
When my family was older, I decided to return to Academy of Art and study illustration, and in 1995 started to exhibit again. Soon after, I had a solo exhibit of my work at the River Road Gallery in the historical little town of Locke, California.
I joined California Watercolor Association for the purpose of meeting and networking with other artists and became their newsletter editor for 2 years, then 2nd vice president of shows. At present I am involved in their high school outreach program.
Joining CWA has motivated me to try many different subjects and styles, but I always return to still life, animals and people. I think of myself mainly as a portrait artist, since I am endlessly fascinated by the face and figure.
